MORE on REASONS WHY WE ARE A REPUBLIC....

The Founders of the U.S.A. were educated men. They weren't just a bunch of 'hot headed radicals'. These men spent YEARS in formulating the basis for a sound and equitable government. They used honest reasoning and debate to form a Constitutional Republic. They knew that there had to be a solid foundation on which to build a strong country. They had experienced the tyranny and unjust usurpation of power from corrupt rulers. Power that was dangerous and often times deadly. Power that corrupted and caused untold pain and destruction on those it was wielded over.

The Founders laid down a foundation for the maintainance of Freedom from those who would attempt to usurp unjust and inequitable power over their fellowman. For they were well aware that absolute power corrupts absolutely. They formulated an idea that the People would have the final say and the power over the government. That this could be accomplished by having a form of government that was made of, by and for the people. That the people would be the best stewards of their own liberty.

The Founders formed a framework of sound ideals they felt would best guarantee this new found Freedom. It is called the Constitution of the United States of America. The basic structure of the document were ideals that were absolutes that needed adherred to. They realized that circumstances would arise that would cause the document to be amended. But that the basic cornerstones should never be altered. The notion that the Constitution is a 'living breathing document' is thus true in a sense. In that it can be amended, (added to - not taken from), to meet circumstances as they arise. The basic premise however is unalterable. For they are cornerstones of a Foundation! Which, if altered, could possibly bring down the whole structure!

The means of securing and ensuring the RIGHTS of the People, outlined in the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights - are spelled out in the 2nd Amendment, (an addition to, not taken away from), of the Bill of Rights.

Patrick Henry spelled out crystal clear the intent of the Amendment at The Virginia ratifying convention which met from June 2 through June 26, 1788; when Edmund Pendleton, opponent of a bill of rights, weakly argued that abuse of power could be remedied by recalling the delegated powers in a convention). Patrick Henry shot back that the power to resist oppression rests upon the right to possess arms: "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined." Henry sneered, "O sir, we should have fine times, indeed, if, to punish tyrants, it were only sufficient to assemble the people! Your arms, wherewith you could defend yourselves, are gone...Did you ever read of any revolution in a nation...inflicted by those who had no power at all?"

Notice, if you will, the dates on which this statement by Patrick Henry was atrributed. This was well after the Revolutionary War. A very bloody struggle fought against the most Powerful Nation in the world. This was the period of time in which the ideals were being formulated. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution because of complaints by the people. There was growing resentment that the Constitution had spelled out the intended purposes of the goverment but left out, in plain language, the RIGHTS of the people.

The Second Amendment is the next step available to the people, as a whole, should the First Amendment prove itself ineffective.

This is why you will find, in many of the writings on this blog and on GunShowOnTheNet.com, the usage of the words coward and traitor in reference to the Anti-Gun crowd. For any politician who attempts to subvert the intent of our Constitution is in fact a Traitor to our country and its intended purposes. They do not want to have to be held accountable, and perhaps, have to pay the ultimate price for their perversion of our governmental system! Which makes them a Coward as well!

The sole aim, intent and purpose of GunShowOnTheNet.com and GunShowOnTheNet.blog is to attempt to utilize the First Amendment in hopes of avoiding utilization of the Second. To REASON with those who are perverting and subverting our governmental system. Using historical data and facts to prove that the course presently being taken by our government will only lead to disaster!

We all are part of a society of human beings. We all make mistakes, that is part and parcel of being human. I am appealing to those that are subverting and perverting your fellowmans RIGHTS, to cease and desist immediately. Amend the evils that you have done and are perpetrating presently. History proves that tyranny NEVER wins! It may appear to win for periods of time. But always ends up in war and mass destruction.

The people who are employed by the government, in any capacity, have families and friends among the general populace. That includes those in Law Enforcement and the Military. These people might play the role that the perverse, powers that be, assign them for a little while. But, Truth, logic, reason, compassion and other human emotions, (that many of those in power hold in contempt), will ALWAYS win out. You may win some battles - BUT YOU WILL LOSE THE WAR! (Hitler and his cronies chose suicide rather than facing the wrath due them for their tyranny). Other tyrants have been torn to pieces, along with their families, as retribution for the evil they let loose upon their societies.

It would thus behoove you to reconsider your actions. For as Newton said "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." With as much grief as is caused by your actions you will be met with the same or greater amount of grief. Power is just an illusion. It can be lost in an instant! You are only in power because WE ALLOW it!

Those of you, presently in power, have studied history....tell me - am I wrong?!
