Journal of the Senate of the United States of America, "...nor shall the rights of the people to keep and bear arms be infringed...", July 8, 1856

...That inasmuch as the Constitution of the United States and the organic act of said Territory has secured to the inhabitants thereof certain inalienable rights, of which they cannot be deprived by any legislative enactment. . . . nor shall the rights of the people to keep and bear arms be infringed....
It was determined in the affirmative...
...I DON'T SEE THE MENTION OF 'MILITIA', DO YOU? Therefore, it is clearly considered by the 1856 Senate to be THE PERSONAL RIGHT of the INDIVIDUAL inhabitant, isn't it? ...
