Carroll Free Press, “Democracy of 1846, vs. Democracy of 1854. The Democracy of 1846, denounced the Whig tax law for taxing a man upon all he is worth . . . fire arms, for the use of the family . . . The people were alarmed, became aroused, and threw off the galling yoke of the Whigs, and placed upon their necks the light and easy yoke of the self-styled Democracy! And how stands the the case now? . . . no fire-arms . . . not even the Bible . . . Are not the people ready to exclaim “Good Lord deliver us” from such Democracy.”, May 25, 1854

The term "liberal", in its political application, is a misnomer. If not actually employed as an outright decception....

For those that brand themselves, or are branded, as "liberals" are anything but. They are actually Authoritarian in their nature. And hold obedience to big government and 'power' as their [perverse] creed. Of true freedom and liberty they have not the slightest comprehension. It can even be rightfully held that they are the true enemies of freedom and liberty. The term that more accurately describes the "liberal" of today is; faithless and ignorant lazy coward. They put their [misguided] trust in the creature rather than the Creator.
