Legislature
of Tennessee Committee: “The invention can be applied to any species of
fire arm–either the pistol, shot gun or rifle . . . It will answer for a
sporting gun, or for target shooting; and in battle it must necessarily
be the most destructive fire arm ever used. It can be fired with
certainty at least 40 times in a minute”, Feb. 21, 1852
